1. Introduction: Subabul


Type: Plant/tree.

Common Name: Subabul

Other Names: White popanic, White leedtree (ref. 01).

Family: Gramineae.

Origin: Tropics of America (ref. 02).

Scientific Name: Leucaena leucocephala.

Uses: Green manure, farm fodder, as energy source.

Occurrence: India, Pakistan, Burma, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, African countries, American countries.

It is a hardy plant. It is a fast growing plant which can attain 15 - 20 feet within a year.
